Rolf is a novel about a young man who accidentally awakens a demon. A literal, slimy, frivolous demon.

Written by our very own Andri Hinnen and illustrated by fellow Zensie Christof Gähwiler, the project began as a challenge to put our storytelling knowledge into practice. The goal: create a story that is both entertaining and profound. A story with monsters, humour and adventure on the surface, and questions of identity, responsibility and growing up underneath.

A couple of years later, we are bringing the story to the big screen. Together with the German production company Maze Pictures, acclaimed filmmakers Mats Frey and Johannes Bachmann, Rolf is now being developed as a feature film. Supported by the Zurich Film Foundation, the project is in pre-production.
