UI/UX improvement for Smallpdf

What about the future of animation and interactive web design? Websites need to be fancy-looking, interactive, and full of life, while at the same time accessible from all over the world, even on slow mobile networks.

For this project, the goal was to bring Small PDF’s already fantastic web design to the next level without blowing up its size. We aimed to create a simple, loveable character to facilitate the UI/UX design.

We came up with “Paper”, an animated sheet of paper guiding the user through all stages of compressing a pdf. All animations were exported as Lottie JSON files, which means they consist only of code, making the size of the files as tiny as a dollhouse.
